Episode 571

o The hotel room is loosely based off one I stayed in earlier this year. The Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica, California, is, incidentally, one gorgeous little hotel. Like Derringer, when I travel, I have to sleep somewhere with a clean, comfortable bed. This fit the bill and was such a nice room. Not cheap, but worth shelling out for... but this isn't "Sandra reviews hotels," this is "Sandra writes the commentary." Sorry. Right, commentary.
o Skipping all the way down to the second to last panel, just to say, don't you hate that feeling, when you're wondering if you reacted appropriately to a situation or if there was a better way.
o Leslie, saying you ate someone is the wrong thing when there are rumors of vampirism about.
o The declaration "I'm mostly clean" is one that would trouble anyone; but Kitty is just amused and somewhat distracted by the handholding in that last panel.
o Heh, the shading on the bedspread thing disappears in the last panel. I was distracted by the handholding, too. That's my excuse, I'm sticking with.
o Oh, man, it's time for my favorite part: the preview for next week. :D
Monday! Collin gets thrown out of a bar and discovers something everyone reading this comic already knew.
Wednesday! DOUBLE COMIC DAY. Leslie puts Kitty to bed in one, and puts Collin to bed in the other.
Friday! Derringer's desperate call for help reaches his boss.

( maybe the large orange julius had some effect tho )

the editing needed some work to make things clearer...
especially with the car fu in the races,
cars used acrobatically as weapons...
tons of motion blur doesnt help, just saying.

I could do with less of the monkey...
especially over the credits.

But its good.
Its about family and talent versus greed.
Its visual adrenaline pumped directly at the eyes.

Everything felt like it was slowed down afterwards.

It occurs to me that researching and planning has to be the most tedious part of the writing process, aside from the writing portion itself. I've about go set in my mind the where and the when, but I still need to do a lot of research on the period and locale the story will be set in.

I also need to do a bit of research on the scientific discoveries of the time, see what I can work with there. And perhaps a bit of reading up on other novels set in the time period as well as viewing films, to get a bit of a feel. LXG is okay as a reference point, in some ways, but as it takes place in various locations I'll need to turn to books for a good bit of my studying.

Ah well. It won't get done if I just sit here thinking on it.

Also, need to cut patterns, perhaps also fabric, this weekend. Of course, this means I have to clean up the table we keep the sewing machine on as well, because if I get to a starting point I'm going to want to continue, and stopping to straighten up the sewing area will throw me off my stride. Which will leave me with patterns cut, pinned, ready to go, and no motivation to keep on.

Enough rambling. Back to the day job now.
